With the latest news of the UMD Passport program for the Playstation Vita, gamers can now get their collection of UMD disc based PSP games onto their Vitas...sort of. A quick recap of how it works first: You download an app to your PSP and insert the UMD game you want to transfer. Simply start up the app and follow the prompts and you can then purchase the game on the Playstation Network at a discount price. Yes, you heard right. You still have to buy the game again. Just how discount is this discount price though? The current pricing plan in Japan is between 500 to 1000 yen. According to Kotaku.com some of the announced game prices include Gran Turismo at 1000 yen which, in the U.S., is roughly 13 dollars. Cheaper games at 500 yen would be more in the 6 dollar range. The big question is whether gamers will be willing to pay the 6 to 15 dollars to do so. Will you?
